Financial Aid Optimization

Evaluate and improve the process of Scholarship Administration across the University. There should be centrally coordinated sharing/communication of scholarship/financial aid information across Admissions, Financial Aid, Honors College, the Foundations, and the Colleges to use our financial aid and other student support in the most efficient and effective manner. Ongoing coordinated communication and using existing technologies will be important.

Determine, analyze, and make appropriate changes to the workflow of the process and timing of awarding financial aid to increase student yields and the student body’s academic profile. Utilize financial aid and scholarships to grow and retain our existing student population and reach new student enrollment segments, including out-of-state, transfer student, and post-traditional student enrollment. Examine regional and national best practices to inform the analysis.

Work is currently in the initial phase of scholarship administration and will be followed by analysis and optimization efforts. Any focused and effective revised process will require additional resources in the Scholarship office.
